How do I open an Investment Savings Account (ISK)?

Existing customer: Under “Account Overview” in Mangold Online, there is a button on the right-hand side labeled “Open a Custody Account.” Select “ISK” and sign the agreement using Mobile BankID.

It is possible to open a securities account on its own without having to open an ISK account. However, it is not possible to have only an ISK account. Corporate Actions

What is a new share offering?

A new share offering (also called a rights issue or share issue) is when a company offers existing shareholders and/or the general public the opportunity to subscribe for newly issued shares. The shares are often offered at a discount to the current market price to encourage participation and help the company raise capital.

Companies conduct new share offerings for various reasons, including:

  • With or Without Pre-emptive Rights
With pre-emptive rights: Existing shareholders receive subscription rights, allowing them to purchase new shares before they are offered to other investors.
Without pre-emptive rights: Investors apply for shares that remain after shareholders with pre-emptive rights have exercised their rights.
  • Record Date: The date on which you must be registered as a shareholder to receive subscription rights and participate in the offering with pre-emptive rights.
  • Subscription Rights (TR) – Subscription rights (Swedish: Teckningsrätter, TR) are securities allocated to existing shareholders that give them the right to subscribe for new shares on preferential terms. Subscription rights are often traded on the stock exchange during the trading period.
  • Unit Rights (UR) – Unit rights (Swedish: Uniträtter, UR) function similarly to subscription rights but are used in offerings where investors subscribe for units rather than individual shares. A unit may consist of shares combined with other securities, such as warrants.
  • Paid Subscribed Share (BTA) – A Paid Subscribed Share (Swedish: Betald Tecknad Aktie, BTA) is a temporary security issued after you subscribe for new shares. Once the share issue has been registered with the Swedish Companies Registration Office, the BTA is automatically converted into ordinary shares. A BTA represents one share.
  • Paid Subscribed Unit (BTU) – A Paid Subscribed Unit (Swedish: Betald Tecknad Unit, BTU) works like a BTA but represents an entire unit, which may consist of multiple securities—for example, two shares and one warrant. The BTU is automatically converted into the underlying securities once the issue has been registered.
  • Subscription Period – The period during which investors can subscribe for the new shares or units. This typically lasts around two weeks (10 business days).
  • Trading Period – The period during which subscription rights (TR) or unit rights (UR) can be bought and sold on the stock exchange. Trading usually begins when the subscription period starts and ends two to three business days before the subscription period closes.
  • Conversion – After the share issue has been completed and registered with the Swedish Companies Registration Office, BTAs or BTUs are automatically converted into ordinary shares (and any accompanying securities). This process typically takes 2–4 weeks, depending on how quickly the registration is completed.

To establish a power of attorney, all relevant parties must complete the appropriate form and sign it using BankID.
